I was lucky enough to make the trip home to Ireland last year to spend some quality time with friends and family over the festive period. As a native of Kilkenny, I naturally spent most of my time there. It’s a beautiful medieval city located about a 90 minute drive from Dublin. It’s rich in medieval architecture with attractions such as Kilkenny Castle, Rothe House and Canice’s Cathedral attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. This, combined with an eclectic mix of festivals all year round, makes Kilkenny a great travel destination in Ireland! I might be slightly biased, but the locals are pretty awesome too..
I set out to get some good pictures of Kilkenny – most notably Kilkenny Castle. The Christmas lights around the city created some great festive atmosphere, giving me an incredible backdrop for night time shots – I couldn’t really resist!
I also visited north Kerry where a lot of my family originate from. A nice winter’s stroll on Ballybunion beach hailed some great photos – which translate into some great wall murals. See for yourself;
